Celebrating 15 Years of Service

This month marks 15 years in which Debbie Storrs has served the River Oaks Baptist community.  As Facility Director, she has been vital in the development and upkeep of our campus.  Thanks for your dedication Debbie!

Thursday Morning Women's Bible Study Begins
The Gospel of Matthew is a relational Bible Study for women facilitated by Jeanie Miley.  You are invited to join this wonderful group of women as they enjoy Jeanie's 18th year of leading this group at ROBC.  The class meets in the Commons Dining Room.  There is no cost, and childcare is provided in the church nursery.

Gethsemane Food Pantry Assistance
River Oaks Baptist and St. Paul Presbyterian Churches are teaming up to serve in the food pantry.  CCSC's Gethsemane Food Pantry serves clients in crisis who live in zip codes 77031, 77036, 77072 and 77074 by providing a five day supply of food for people experiencing hunger or food insecurity.  Clients can also be referred to other agencies for long-term assistance.  The food pantry managers and dedicated volunteers come from local Christian churches in the area.

If you are interested in helping, please contact Czarena Siebert at czarena.siebert@hp.com.  She can give you the necessary training materials for the varous volunteer positions, or you may show up and shadow an ROBC volunteer.

Annual Food Drive at ROBC
The Souper Bowl of Caring is a nation wide food drive that ends on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5.  ROBC will be accepting dry and canned food donations during the week leading up to the Big Game.  Please place your donations in the large box in the church Foyer near the Sanctuary, and we will deliver them to CCSC the following week.  Monetary donations are also welcome.  Thanks in advance for your help with stocking their food pantry!

Men's Super Bowl Fellowship
Guys, join us at the home of Scott Good for THE BIG GAME!  We will enjoy BBQ brisket, yelling loudly at the referees, and cheering on our favorite team.  Please contact Scott or the church office for his address.

Valentine Concert in the Commons with Matt Lemmler
We are excited that our favorite Jazz Pianist and Vocalist, Matt Lemmler, will be here to entertain church members and visitors alike.  This is a free concert, and the entire community is welcome!

Children's Valentine Party
Our Children's Minister, Miss Amy, will host this annual party in the Fellowship Hall while the adults enjoy the Concert in the Commons.  Please RSVP to Amy Smith if your children plan to attend.  Kids will need to bring Valentines to share with friends.     You may contact Amy at 713-622-0570 x119 or email address: asmith@robc.org.

Marriage Enrichment Retreat
ROBC will host a Marriage Retreat open to all couples.  Drs. Britton and Bobbye Wood from Better Marriages (www.bettermarriages.org) will be with us to guide discussion on how to enhance your relationship and build a marriage that lasts. 

All ROB Church and ROB School couples are invited to attend.  The retreat will be held at the Holiday Inn, Kemah, TX, and the cost is $200 per couple.  Scholarships are available. Please RSVP by Sunday, February 19.
