Social and Recreational Events

We also sponsor many social and recreational events throughout the year. We believe that sharing in one another's lives not only strengthens our community, but also supports us individually as followers and believers in Christ.

We would encourage you to attend or volunteer to help coordinate one of our many fellowship activities listed below. Guests and visitors are always welcome! See the calendar for more information! For specific times and dates or more information call 713-622-0570.

Sunday Night Dinner Club

Sunday Night Dinner Club is cluster of dinner groups within the church for the purpose of building community within the church membership. The groups of 9 or 10 include old and young, married and single members in hopes of developing friendships within the diversity of our church. Although the groups meet in homes, childcare will be provided at the church, infants through fifth graders.

 

Mother's Day Brunch

Our celebration of mothers (and women in general!) is an expression of these special people in our lives. On Mother's Day each year, this is a beautiful time to spend with those who nurture us. 

 

Harvest Fest

A wonderful opportunity to fellowship held each October! This is a day devoted to developing our community and includes great food, lots of family and children's activities, and a chance to get to know your ROBC family better! Guests are welcome.  

 

Agape Feast

A day of Thanksgiving, Agape Feast is held each November. This is a chance to share a meal, share communion and experience a dramatic presentation in an intimate setting.  

 

Superbowl Game

Every January we gather to watch the "Big Game" on our BIG screen!  Some come to watch the game, some come to watch the commercials, but all come to have a great time with our church family and friends!  And of course everyone comes to eat the famous grilled burgers cooked by our Men's Bible class.  

 

Jazz Concerts

A few times during the year we are blessed to have some of the most talented musicians perform for our church and community.  Our Minister of Music, Greg Stahl, has many musician friends who generously come to share their talents. 

 

Children's programs

There are a variety of yearlong and shorter length children's programs to help grow our kids in God's love. Visit the Children's Ministry section to learn more about these programs and events.

 

Christmas Presentation

Each December, we present an astounding and touching theatrical presentation in celebration of the holy season. Our choir is joined by orchestra members and our children participate in song.

UCAL Sports

We also encourage recreation at ROBC through the UCAL. UCAL is a Christian Sports League for 1st - 6th graders. The sports include soccer, basketball, and baseball.
